Where are your LCD products manufactured?
We manufacture various LCD products in Japan, Taiwan, and China. All TFT panels are manufactured in each of these locations. The STN, FSTN, and CSTN panels are manufactured solely in Taiwan.

What regions does HED(US) sell its LCD products into?
HED(US) is responsible for all LCD sales into both North and South America. Hitachi Ltd. has additional offices in Europe, Asia, and Australia to support customers located in those regions.

What is your standard lead time?
The standard lead time for our products is 12 to 14 weeks from date of order.

What channels does HED(US) use to sell its products?
HED(US) sells its LCD panels through both direct and distribution sales channels. Authorized sales reps in your state will help you to find the best way to receive Hitachi's panels. You can obtain a list of sales representatives and distributors in your local area on this website.

Does Hitachi manufacture semi-custom or custom LCD panels?
Yes we do. Within certain quantity and value limitations, Hitachi can manufacture any type of semi-custom or custom LCD that you would like. If you are interested in this type of product solution, please contact your local sales rep for assistance.

What does it mean if I can't find the part I'm interested in on the product lineup sheet?
Typically, this will mean one of two things. Either the product you're looking into has been discontinued, or it is a semi-custom or custom LCD that is sold to a specific customer. You can check a listing of discontinued panels on this website. Typically, there will be a replacement part on our standard product lineup that will fit your current opportunity. If you are looking for a character module, Hitachi has ceased production of those a few years ago. If the part is semi-custom or custom, you will need to go back through the OEM or an authorized OEM repair shop to find the panel(s) you need.

Does Hitachi sell replacement notebook PC or monitor panels?
All of the panels we sell to OEM's for notebook PC or monitor usage are custom. We are unable to sell these panels to anyone besides the OEM. If you need a replacement for a Hitachi panel in a notebook PC or monitor, please contact the OEM directly or look for an authorized OEM repair shop.

What is included with a Hitachi LCD?
All Hitachi LCD's include the LCD glass, drivers, data connectors, touchscreens (optional), and timing controllers.

What do I need to hook up to the Hitachi LCD in order for it to work?
Typically, you will need a graphics controller (may include touchpanel controller) and power inverter (if CFL backlight only).

Can I drive a LCD panel directly from my computer's analog RGB port?
You will not be able to do this with one of our LCD panels. You will need a LCD controller to take signals from your computer and convert them to the form required by the LCD module.

What is the difference between monochrome STN and FSTN panels?
STN stands for Super Twisted Nematic and the FSTN stands for Film Super Twisted Nematic. The film is a contrast enhancing film applied to some monochrome panels to increase contrast performance.

Does HED(US) perform any type of LCD repair?
As of right now, HED(US) does not currently repair any LCD panels.
